JOHN CINTOSUN

Barrister & Solicitor

John Cintosun was born in Australia and immigrated to Canada at a young age. He graduated with an Honours degree in Political Science and Philosophy at York University before attending Osgoode Hall Law School. Upon graduation, John completed his articles at the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, where he provided legal opinions to Ministry clients and independently prosecuted Highway Traffic Act violations, carried out trials, responded to Charter disputes, and engaged in plea negotiations and appeals.

John was called to the Law Society of Upper Canada in June of 2013. In 2015, he moved to Los Angeles and passed the California Bar Exam.

John currently resides Toronto providing legal advice and representation in the areas of refugee law and civil litigation. He has appeared before the Federal Court, Superior Court, Divisional Court, Provincial Offences Court, and various administrative tribunals.

John is fluent in English, French and Turkish. John played soccer at a semi-professional level in Turkey, and formed a grassroots club in 2010 that currently participates in the Ontario Soccer Association. He also enjoys calisthenics.
